Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 Review

20090124 New G1

This is my personal review of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1. I’ve not tried to copy dpreview or Imaging Resource or dcresource by explaining every feature or doing technical studio tests; instead I’m giving my view of the camera, it’s good points and bad, as an alternative to my heavier Nikon DSLRs with 18-200 VR and Sony point and shoot.

Since this is a personal review, there will be points that are subjective – things which I find positive or negative that you may not agree with. I hope, however, that this review gives any potential G1 purchaser a good idea of what it’s like to “live” with a G1, rather than how it performs in a studio.

Firmware version for this review is v1.1.
